Things to Consider When Building a Log Home
How much of a
budget can you afford when building a log home? The typical Log
Home from Johnson Log Homes runs around $120/square foot to
build. This number can be increased or decreased depending on
factors such as windows, doors, cabinets, and other items to
finish the home. Our recommendation is to get Log Home Living
Magazine. You can purchase plans from them cheaper than buying
them from an architect. If you find something you like but would
like minor changes done, often that can be accomplished for a
nominal fee. Often times the plans you purchase come with a
materials list.
You can ultimately save hundreds of dollars by doing most of the
footwork and preliminary planning yourself.
